Offered through an international competition, these fully funded positions provide the flexibility to join research groups at any university in Bavaria, with access to world-class resources and partner programs, including that of the Munich Centre for Quantum Science and Technology (MCQST).
Applicants may apply to both fellowships in one call ore choose only one of them for their application; selection for both occurs in parallel by separate committees. Research areas span quantum computing, atomic and solid-state physics, quantum optics, information theory and quantum engineering.
MQV supports diversity and strongly encourages applications from all backgrounds. A Master’s degree (or equivalent) completed by September 2026 is required.
Applications are open from 15 October 2025 to 15 January 2026. Final interviews will be held in March 2026, and selected fellows can begin their PhD any time before 1 December 2026.
