Quantum Technology Park & Entrepreneurship (QTPE)

The main goal of QTPE is to create a leading ecosystem for quantum technologies in Bavaria by establishing first, a Quantum Technology Park and second, a Quantum Entrepreneurial Center. It provides an infrastructure with state-of-the-art technological tools and engineering know-how as well as an entrepreneurial pipeline to translate the scientific research into innovative businesses and accelerated commercialization of quantum technologies for the society.

The Quantum Technology Park (QTP) will be realized on the Garching Research Campus, embedded into the already existing research infrastructure in quantum science and technology within the Munich area. The QTP combines local Munich Players with industry partners. It builds on four pillars, consisting of the Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Microsystems and Solid State Technologies (EMFT), the Max Planck Semiconductor Laboratory (HLL), the LMU-based Quantum Materials and Devices cleanroom and the Quantum Technology Center, a joint effort of TU Munich and Walther-Meißner-Institute (WMI) of BAdW.

To support the potential entrepreneurial journey of quantum researchers, the Venture Lab Quantum (VLQ) provides an increasing network of experts and industry connections. It serves as an incubator for local teams and start-ups, supporting students and founders every step of the way.
