MQV start-up planqc awarded with DLR Quantum Computing Initiative contract

As announced by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) today, planqc will develop a quantum computer with more than 100 qubits using neutral atoms at the DLR Innovation Center in Ulm as part of the DLR Quantum Computing Initiative (QCI).

planqc was founded in 2022, as first start-up to emerge from MQV, by a research team from the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. The contract awarded today by QCI has a value of 29 million euros and aims at developing a quantum computer based on neutral atoms within three and a half years.
