The MQV Colloquia feature interdisciplinary talks given by local as well as invited international experts. The colloquia, which are accessible to a worldwide audience via videoconference, cover all aspects of quantum technologies, with a focus on MQV research activities. The goal of the series is to establish and strengthen connections with quantum-technology experts worldwide and to provide a platform for education and scientific exchange for and with the local quantum ecosystem.
Andreas Böhm – Bayern Innovativ
Bayern Innovativ acts as a bridge builder between quantum technology and industry:
In order to bring quantum technologies to market, science has to get in touch with companies to bring together demand and research. Thus, on the one hand, there are many companies that are potential users or providers of quantum tech but are often not visible to researchers. On the other hand, you need a good overview of the know-how available in research. Through our networking activities, we act as an intermediary between the different worlds. We focus on the concerns of industry and create awareness of digital tools that can be used to solve problems. Quantum computing is one tool in this toolbox. The talk will present the “what” and “how”.
Dr. Andreas Böhm is physicist with a degree in solid state physics. In 2003 he completed his Ph.D at the University of Frankfurt. In industry he worked for several years at one of the world's largest automotive suppliers in the development of engine control units (ECU). In this he gained extensive experience in the management of complex projects at Robert Bosch GmbH. 2007 he changed to Bayern Innovativ GmbH and later on as head of Cluster Automotive from 2012 to July 2020. His main focus was on coordinating the future topics of automotive wiring systems and autonomous driving.
Currently he heads the emerging tech quantum technology for Bayern Innovativ GmbH in order to promote cooperation between research and industry in this future topic.
