On 8 November 2025, the Faculty of Physics of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) will host a Quantum Physics Day for anyone interested. At 11 a.m., the dean of the faculty, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schollwöck, will welcome visitors to the event in the LMU's Audimax. This will be followed by lectures from Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch and MQV member Prof. Dr. Immanuel Bloch.
In the atrium of the LMU main building, research groups will present themselves to the public with booths, lectures, and laboratory tours. A small exhibition in the Thomas Mann Hall of the main building will introduce key figures in quantum physics.
Munich Quantum Valley will participate in the event to welcome visitors of all ages who are particularly interested in quantum computing. At the MQV booth, you can learn what exactly quantum computers are and how they could be used in the future. Components of a real quantum computer make the abstract topic tangible.
The event, organized by the LMU Faculty of Physics, is free. More information on the program can be found at the LMU event webpage [in German].
