Quantum Future Academy 2023

to

Students from Israel and Germany are attending two one-week academies about quantum technologies in Tel-Aviv and Munich.

The 2023 Quantum Future Academy will be held as a bi-national event! For the first time, students from Israel and Germany will be attending two one-week academies about quantum technologies. The first part will take place in Israel, 19–26 February 2023, while the second part will be in Germany, 3–10 September 2023.

Explore the application potential of quantum technologies!

Throughout the academy, you will obtain an exclusive overview on state-of-the-art research and development in quantum technologies. Challenges here are not limited to the field of physics: transferring basic principles of quantum physics into actual technical applications still requires enormous effort in development, e. g. in the fields of engineering sciences or information technologies. Those who want to make these new technologies successful must create business models and find markets as well. Young start-ups as well as established companies are massively investing in quantum technologies already today. During the academy, you will receive an exclusive insight into this cutting-edge field of technology, and the opportunity to thereby expand your horizon towards both the academic and the entrepreneurial world. The Quantum Future Academy 2023 will be a separated two-week program containing:

  • Excursions to leading companies and institutes
  • Lectures by experts in the field of quantum technologies
  • An exclusive insight into the current state of research and development
  • Talks and networking with entrepreneurs, start-ups and founders
  • Interactive workshops
  • Social program with evening events

Who is hosting?

The Academy is hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Israeli Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology (MOST), and the German Embassy in Tel Aviv in cooperation with the Weizmann Institute of Science, the Munich Quantum Valley (MQV), and the Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology (MCQST), the German Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development (GIF), and the VDI Technologiezentrum.

Who can participate?

Students of engineering or natural sciences from universities in Israel and Germany in bachelor and master programs with basic knowledge in quantum physics (typically third year onwards).

Given the ongoing COVID-19 situation, a willingness to comply with pandemic regulations is assumed.

Participation in the academy is free of charge. Meals and housing will be provided. Travel expenses will be reimbursed in coordination with the organizers. The event language is English.

How to apply?

  • Part 1 in Israel, 19–26 February 2023
  • Part 2 in Germany, 3–10 September 2023
