Quantum Computing meets Cyber Security: Symposium in Munich brings experts together

Quantum computers could solve problems beyond the capabilities of current classical computers. In parallel, powerful quantum technologies pose a new threat to security systems. The symposium Quantum Computing meets Cyber Security brings together experts to discuss cyber security issues.

Where scientific breakthroughs become more tangible with the help of quantum computing, a new danger also hides: the misuse of quantum technologies for cyberattacks. The high computing power of quantum computers poses potential threats to classical encryption systems. Encryptions that securely protect communications systems and information processing today could be cracked in an acceptable time frame in the future. At the same time, new quantum machines and algorithms may increase the security of encryption systems. Addressing cybersecurity in the age of quantum computing in a timely manner is therefore essential.

Symposium on cybersecurity in the age of quantum computing.

Munich Quantum Valley, the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München are bringing together researchers and representatives from industry to discuss such cybersecurity issues. At the jointly organized symposium on May 12, 2023, they will offer a series of presentations by various experts.
