MQV at the DPG Fall Meeting in Göttingen

Last week, the second DPG Fall Meeting took place at Georg August University in Göttingen under the motto “100 Years of Quantum Physics.” Munich Quantum Valley (MQV) was represented with a booth at the industry and book exhibition.

Göttingen played a central role in the development of quantum mechanics. It was here that Werner Heisenberg, together with Max Born and Pascual Jordan, founded the theoretical quantum mechanics in 1925. This was reason enough for the German Physical Society (DPG) to honor this historical legacy 100 years later with the second DPG Autumn Conference, which also represents the scientific highlight of the International Year of Quantum Science 2025.

100 years later, quantum mechanics can look back on rapid development and is full of potential for more and more future applications. This was also the focus of the industry and book exhibition at the autumn conference, where the MQV was represented with a stand that also presented the clusters of excellence “Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology” (MCQST) and “Complexity and Topology in Quantum Matter” (ct.qmat) as well as the entire Bavarian quantum ecosystem. Visitors, primarily young scientists, were able to find out about the Bavarian quantum ecosystem, the local research landscape, and career opportunities in quantum sciences.
